The ExEm® Foam Kit enables easy recognition of tubal patency. The ExEm® gel has been specically developed for gynaecological intracavity ultrasound imaging and is CE marked for this purpose. By mixing ExEm® gel and puried water a gel foam is created. The gel foam can be infused through the cervix and the uterine cavity into the fallopian tubes and thus creating a perfect extension of the walls of the fallopian tubes.

Fallopian tube abnormalities account for up to 40% of female subfertility (Snick et al., 1997; Steinkeler et al., 2009). Assessment of tubal patency is one of the first steps in fertility investigations.
